Operation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in China in November

On December 9th, China Charging Alliance announced the operation of the national electric vehicle charging infrastructure in November, 2022. The data shows that as of November 2022, the cumulative number of charging infrastructures in the country was 4.949 million units, up by 107.5% year-on-year.

From January to November, 2022, the increment of charging infrastructure was 2.332 million units, of which the increment of public charging piles increased by 105.4% year-on-year, and the increment of private charging piles built with vehicles continued to increase, increasing by 316.5% year-on-year.

In terms of pile-to-pile ratio, from January to November, the increment of charging infrastructure was 2.332 million units, and the sales volume of new energy vehicles was 6.067 million units. Charging infrastructure and new energy vehicles continued to explode. Accordingly, the incremental ratio of pile to vehicle is 1:2.6, and the construction of charging infrastructure can basically meet the rapid development of new energy vehicles.  

In terms of public charging infrastructure, the number of public charging piles in November 2022 increased by 51,000 compared with October, with a year-on-year increase of 58.6% in November. As of November 2022, a total of 1.731 million public charging piles have been reported by member units in the alliance, including 732,000 DC charging piles and 999,000 AC charging piles. From December 2021 to November 2022, about 53,000 new public charging piles were added every month.

In terms of operators, as of November 2022, the number of charging piles operated by charging operators nationwide is TOP16, They are: 335000 TELECOM, 334000 Star Chargers, 244000 Cloud Chargers, 196000 State Grid, 91000 Xiaoju Chargers, 69000 Wei Jing Yun, 65000 Shenzhen Power Grid, 61000 China Southern Power Grid, 47000 Wancheng Chargers, 44000 Hui Chargers, 41000 Yiwei energy, 27000 Wanma Aichong, 24000 SAIC Anyue, 23000 China Putian, 18,000 Azure Fast Charging and 10000 Newyea Technology. These 16 operators accounted for 93.6% of the total, and the rest accounted for 6.4% of the total.

In addition, on November 14th, the Ministry of Finance issued the "Notice on Advance Release of the Subsidy Fund Budget for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction in 2023". According to the summary of funds in the Notice, the Ministry of Finance has issued a total of 18.99 billion yuan of subsidy funds for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles and the construction of charging infrastructure in 30 provinces and cities in 2023. Among them, the Ministry of Finance has allocated 2.21 billion yuan as incentive funds for charging infrastructure construction in 20 provinces and cities, which will be 482.5 million yuan, 665.4 million yuan and 1.066 billion yuan from 2018 to 2020 respectively.
